This is the most perfect neutral on my nails! I had some trouble with bubbling and patchiness at first, but I think that's user error and maybe my topcoat needing some thinner. What I've found worked for getting rid of any bubbling was having the last step of nail prep be swiping on some nail oil, waiting 5-10 minutes for it to soak in, then wiping the oil off really well and starting in painting as usual. It sounds a little unhinged but it solved the bubble issue and I had no issues with polish not lasting on my nails.
I thought I had reviewed this color already, I don’t understand how I haven’t yet because I LOVE this, I’ve reached for it multiple times now. I usually hate mauves as a fairly alt girly, but I wanted something low key for work environments, this color was such a surprise favorite it’s come into my regular rotation as a palette cleanser, I keep catching myself looking at my nails. It looks fantastic on me, very classy chic and kindof reminds me of Korean beauty, but I still get a feel of some of that moodiness I like. This jelly formula is by far the best I’ve seen from Cracked, very very even application, it’s glassy but not overly so and I can still see my nail line in two coats, I think that’s why the color compliments me so well. Love love, will replace this bottle when I get low.
This is my first ever jelly and I'm absolutely in love. It's such a pretty mauve that's perfect for everyday. Will be wearing more jellies because of this gorgeous polish!
I was very impressed with how easy to work with the formula was! I was still able to see my visible nail line with 3 coats, and it’s so plump! On my slightly warm skin tone, one thin layer gives my nails a slight strawberry cream tint. More coats deepens it to a slightly purple-gray undertone in some lighting and a brown undertone in lower light! This is 3 coats of Simply Mauvelous with my ring finger as Grenadine atop a red magnetic!
Lovely mauve color but definitely leaning more brown than pink on my pale skin. Would still say it works well with cool toned skin! I also added pink strawberry puffs on top for reference.
with my skin tone, this polish did not look very nice - it looked like the color of bologna :( i destashed this and gave it to my mom, who is more light skinned and has a cool skin tone. i think it will be more flattering on her.
I love the brown undertones of this. It’s subtle enough to be called a neutral, but rich and pigmented enough to be eye catching.
This is a great jelly formula that looks even better with a matte topcoat. Personally, this is as light as I would go color-wise with Cracked jellies when it comes to longer nail length like mine unless a very visible nail line is your thing or you want to put on more than 3 coats. This color does lean brown in some indoor lighting, but in natural light it is true to the bottle on me.
So I have an olive undertone that makes me weak whenever I'm presented with a mauve and this was no exception. It's a plain color that I thought I'd use more in nail art or as a base, but every time it's on my nails I want to leave it alone with how natural and beautiful it looks on my hand. If you are a dark cool-neutral olive I suggest you run, not walk to get this. Other olive undertone ladies i still suggest getting it because it's hard to find that perfect neutral and this is it.
Pulls a little more brown on me than I expected, but I'm not mad about it. It's a nice neutral for when I want something a little more pigmented but still subtle. I expect I'll get lots of use out of it come fall. Has the great formula I've come to expect from Cracked. Super squishy and easy to apply.
Excellent formula: smooth, not too thin or thick, and lasts at least a week without chips (it would probably last longer but I change up my polish weekly, so I can't say for sure haha). I love this shade, and I think it's going to become a staple in my collection.
Simply Mauvelous, Dahling truly lives up to its name! The color is absolutely beautiful, and the formula is very easy to work with. This was my first time trying a jelly polish, and I will be getting more jellies from Cracked.
It definitely reads more brown as opposed to mauvey/pinky like the swatch pics. But I really love the formula and it’s a very nice color
It's only mauve (and like the swatch pics) in direct light. Otherwise, it's much more brown. Great formula, either way.
FANTASTIC! Dries super quickly. I’m not buying other polish after this.
My favorite jelly at least so far! I love the color by itself and love it with layering or toppers. Easily opaque in 3 coats.
On me it's more of a soft neutral pink than a mauve but still very flattering (even though I struggle with pinks looking bad on my skin tone). The formula is great, it applies super evenly and is the right opacity for my jelly preference. I could build it to opacity in 3 coats but here I wore 2 coats with a layer of a gold shimmer topper in between for texture.
