The formula is thin and easy to apply, but I think it is quite patchy to use alone. I applied two coats to use it as a basecoat, but I feel I can just apply two coats of ridge filler instead to have the similar color correct effect. But my nails are not seriously tinted.
I wore it as a standalone for a couple days, it’s very glossy and looks good by itself! It does a great job of neutralizing stains and brightening the nail. Pictures are of 1 thin coat and 1 coat over 1 coat of cracked ridge filler.
Not sure if I got a bad batch but the neutralizer is really patchy for me even after three coats. The non-patchy parts cover up staining but because it's so patchy it doesn't make sense to use it with sheer polishes. :( Pictured are three coats.
I have very stained nails and got this hoping that it would allow me to wear sheer polishes. The formula is thin, but you only need a thin coat. You don't have to apply over the entire nail, either! I put it over only the most stained portion in my first coat to see how it would look and it does great! Put a second coat over it to smooth everything out, but the most stained part got the majority of the effect which was exactly what I wanted. It's not completely even, but it's not meant to be a polish. Once you polish over it, the unevenness vanishes. Float thin coats for best results. Honestly, this stuff is just so amazing.
I love this neutralizer base coat. It covers the yellow of my nails from frequent polish in two coats and gives me a great base for polish. It’s a little streaky after one coat, but the second evens it out completely for me.
This is a terrific product; two coats provides not only a lovely, semi-opaque base for transparent/light-colored polishes, BUT ALSO - 2c provide great protection against green-base-polish staining. I'm a fan.
This takes away my VNL without significantly changing the color of the polish on top. It’s magic.
This stuff is SO good! My nails are really stained recently and I was able to almost completely hide that in one thin coat. I find it works best if I shake it before I use it. Dries super quick!
If I could give 4.5 stars I would. I didn't love this as a base coat, it went on a bit streaky for me in a single coat, and I had to do quite a bit of cleanup so that it didn't create a pale outline around my polish (which, fair enough, is true for any tinted base). However, it did a great job with neutralizing and with blurring vnl. Shown under Lone Star Rose, which is on the sheer side. You can see a bit of outline left on my index fingers. I think it will be great used over another base coat.
Even after three coats, this was streaky/patchy. Tried multiple times before throwing it out.

My nails are pretty stained because I always have lacquer on, but a single coat of this stuff totally covers the staining! Two coats, and my nail line disappears under jellies. It's a nice soft neutral color that can be worn alone, too.
This neutralizer is so amazing!! I love using it when wearing more sheer or jelly based polishes! It blurs my nail line, corrects my staining, and makes my polish appear more opaque!!
Will be purchasing again! It’s my new go-to VNL base:)
I originally bought it because I love the light purple, but now use it for its intended purpose: neutralizing my stained nails!
As a standalone polish, it’s super sheer and a little patchy to wear in one coat, so I’ll have to try a few more coats next time.
If you wear translucent press on nails, you will want, nay, NEED this product! It hides the line between your nail bed and your growing nail so your see through press ons look their best. It is made to work with press on nails. It can hide nail yellowing from earlier manicures and its even a pretty color by itself.
i love to put this under my polishes, it's even pretty on it's own!
I wear this under white based polishes to make them look whiter. I have a beautiful white shimmer polish that just looked so yellow on my nails. Cue color theory, after putting this down after my base coat then layering the polish over, boom, white as snow. Thank goodness because I was on the verge of destashing that polish & now it's one of my favorites!
i find this nice to use under sheer polishes, and under my other manicures to help strengthen my nails.
I can't speak to its neutralizing power yet, but this builds up to a lovely pale lilac purple in 3 coats.

I use it in a single coat. It helps a lot under sheer colors, but it's quite streaky, so I don't think I would use it on its own. But to hide VNL and correct yellowing under sheer/jelly polishes, it's great!
I typically only love mooncat's neutralizer polish. I decided to try cracked's version and fell in love. It is perfect underneath cracked jelly polishes. It is lovely color and could be used for those weeks you want a neutral elegant color on your nails.

I bought this more for the color than I did to neautralize my nails. I love the lilac purple color!
I get white spots on my nails occasionally, I have yellow staining from constant nail polish application, and I also have naturally ridged nails. This product helped with all of those, I bought it for the "neutralizing" part for my jelly polishes as I really do not like seeing the visible line, but using 2 coats of this helped other problems I didn't know I wanted a solution for as well. It's quick drying, and will now be a staple in my nail routine.
