I hate gold. Be that as it may, I couldn't make myself take this out of my cart. The name is just so evocative. I am very happy for the name, because I don't think I would have tried the polish without it, and it's definitely a keeper for me!
It is more gold than I expected, I think because I expect base colors will show more than they usually do in polishes that aren't cremes. The swatch photos on the site are true to what I saw on my nails, but I guess I was hoping for more gray, since I love gray.
Still, it's beautiful and super-ethereal in one coat. I did one hand in one coat and one in three, hoping to build up the base gray some. Instead, it multiplies the gold so much, you can barely see the gray. In two of the photos, I'm outside in the sunlight. The book photo is three coats, outside in shade. I will wear this polish many more times in one coat!
Applied nicely, as do all of the Cracked polishes I've tried. Chips in my nails are not reflective of the quality of the polish! Shown with base coat and top coat.
Thank you so much for naming it what you did! No way I would have discovered such an unexpected winner for me, otherwise! :)
So so so beautiful. Applies smoothly. One coat is just stunning with shifty yellow and grey like a distant light in the fog. A second coat gives an uniform antique golden glow.
Maybe the color doesn’t look good on my skin tone. It’s just not my favorite. I thought it would have a stronger gray base, but it just looks gold on me.
very cool polish! it looked so grey in the bottle, I was a bit skeptical, but on my nails it’s always glowing gold except at the lowest angles, where you can see it’s a grey jelly base. reminds me of some kind of antique metal hardware with a patina on it, or mercury glass, but gold. unexpected fave!
My favorite polish color is a grey with a twist and this is just that. A grey gold? Its a unique take on a grey, looks a little more gold in most lighting but I absolutely love it.
This color is so unique, it's a little spooky with the grey and the gold really glows. I honestly didnt want to take it off and may not have if thanksgiving cooking didn't claim a nail or two. Can't wait to see more colors like this!
I was really surprised by how much I loved this color. The gold shimmer is so pretty against the gray base. It’s totally unique in my collection too.
I was honestly kind of surprised how much I liked this one. I bought the whole Halloween collection and wasn’t sure if I would like the gray and yellow but it really is beautiful and interesting in all different lighting. The formula is very easy to work with as well. Might wear this one again around the holidays it kind of feels like a festive gold color.
I knew this one would be one of my purchases from this collection immediately. It is gorgeous 😍. It looks the best in indoor lighting imo. It has a candlelight glow. In the sun, the gold sparkles so beautifully. If you like Yellows/ Golds, get this one.
this is a really cool, ghostly colour combination that I don't necessarily feel suits me, but I'm embracing it for spooky season. It is SO sparkly and shimmery!
I see this more as a light olive shimmer polish than a gold - it’s so delicate and glowy. I pair it with frolicking in the fields for a taupe-metallic- muted rainbow combo. I also use it with magnetic polishes. Over black or even on its own is so pretty.
Such a unique, spooky shade, it really looks like hazy light through a thick foggy night.

Love this sooo much. Its soft and light and the grungy.
One of my all time favorite polishes. It’s beautiful and has an amazing formula.
Great formula and the application is super smooth. Love the gray base. Reminds me of fog in a way but with gold shimmer. It’s beautiful.
So easy to work with. Love this formula. Such a beautiful golden glowy color. I don't have many gray color but this one is so good!
‘Mourning Light’ is one of my top 10 polishes, and despite having a huge collection to choose from, I keep coming back to it. So much that I needed to buy a second bottle!
Love the soft gray jelly base. It’s a beautiful color and it applies smoothly.
This isn't a typical color I'd go for, but I saw it in a comparison swatch on another listing, don't remember which one cause THIS was the color that caught my eye. It's just beautiful, works as a neutral in my opinion, and wears really well, great formula. Definitely underrated and overlooked.
So easy to work with. Love this formula. Such a beautiful golden glowy color. I don't have many gray color but this one is so good!
This is a really unique polish like I haven't seen before. It feels like a faint candle glowing in the fog and I get so many compliments when I wear it.
This shade is absolutely mesmerizing. The base is a moody, haunting gray that perfectly shifts into a striking green shimmer whenever it catches the light.
True to the photos, but the shimmer doesn’t vibe w my skin tone unfortunately
