My Blood Aches

My Blood Aches

Experience the deep emotion allure with My Blood Aches, our blood red jelly/crelly with a brown undertone reflects the passion, strength and vulnerability that comes with love and loss.  A swoon worthy red truly!

Fun Fact - My friend Alyssa has been on the hunt for a color like this for a very long time. She was finding that most reds lean too orange or too purple so we created the perfect balance of red and brown to come up with this unique undertone that will flatter everyone.

Pro Tip - Try with a matte top coat for a classic look. You can build this up to full coverage

So flattering!

This red is super flattering on my light olive skin. A little hard to work with but after some practice I was able to get a good look in two coats!

Glossy Red Finger Tips

I have been looking for a plasticky red polish that looks like the red polish Barbie’s nails were painted with in the 1960s and this is it. It’s squishy and glossy and I would recommend it if you need My Blood Aches.

Not a blood red

OK, my title is on a down side, but don't get me wrong, this is a GOOD FORMULA NAIL POLISH, just images and swatches are pretty incorrect, to say the least.
First of all, I bought it after watching a few videos of polular swatchers. NOW I am aware that what they shoe is a color under VERY INTENSE ARTIFICIAL LIGHT, which makes any polish look as bright as possible. Do we see the same shade in the most of our every day lives? NOPE. So my tip No.1 is to look for swatcher that shows you how the polish looks on his/her nails in a regular UNEDITED room conditions. This is very important, because this is TRUE COLOR REVEAL. There are probably very few swatchers that do so, because majority work for free products AND views on Youtube. Sad truth.
So back to this polish... It is not RED. It is a rusty reddish brown.
Opacity is very good, so is the formula, brush is amazing, no complaints, except for the EXACT SHADE. I was looking for blood red, and this is not how my blood looks like.
Most will get full coverage in 2 coats.
I have a literally twin shade from Death Valley Nails called "The Swamp Sparrow", but that one is much more sheer, a true jelly, and YES, you might have guessed it right, I bought it after seeing photos of influencers where they showed it as a blood red nail polish. BOTH ARE NOT BLOOD RED. They are BROWN RUSTY RED. Or simply brown. Brown has lots of shades, in case you din't know, from cool to warm.
SO my conclustion:
-is it a good quality nail polish? YES, absolutely.
-is thebrush good? YES, perfect.
-is it red or blood red? NO, it is BROWN with red undertones.
-coveage? I would call it crelly, but very self leveling and nice to work with.
-is it worth the price? YES, it is, if you love the color.
Remember, you can ALWAYS find a similar shade on a cheaper drugstore brand website, but choosing this you SUPPORT a small business and A PERSON behind it. This is very important, at least to me.
Thank you for reading.
