Donut Spunk is a glimmering oyster pearl white with a dusting of taupe. This is my spin on the popular glazed donut nail trend. This classic shade is the perfect everyday polish and would also make for a stunning bridal shade.
Fun Fact - One of my favorite things to do is hit up a local donut shop and indulge.
Pro Tip - You can wear this in 1, 2, or 3 coats depending on your desired look.

Beautiful neutral with a lovely glazed finish. The formula was great, very easy to work with and self-leveling. Got even coverage in two coats. Will definitely be getting more in this finish!
This is such a nice, easy way to get glazed donut nails with a single, regular nail polish. It has a lovely pink undertone and the shimmer running through it adds just the right amount of interest and glow. It took 3-4 coats for my visible nail line to be fully obscured, but I use thin coats and am very sensitive to any line showing through.
I love the name of this polish - it cracks me up every time. I also just love the polish color in general! The soft pink-y shimmer with kind of an icing blue and then also little tiny flecks of gold? Gorgeous. This polish does end up being a little patchy for me, even with the three coats in my photo.
This is a great palate cleanser/neutral that isn't boring! It's like a lovely pearly pale pink icing. It goes on very evenly and was more opaque than I expected. This is one coat over a blurring base.
Perfect palate cleanser! Warm pink pearl with a subtle cool shimmer. Up close, it has a very fine pink speckle that reminds me of cake crumb texture. Two coats for even coverage, easy to work with.
This is one of Cracked’s OG polishes. Such a unique finish and beautiful neutral color!
Donut Spunk is an elevated neutral, I think it looks best in three coats. I have included pictures of it compared to Baker's Dozen (middle finger) while Donut Spunk is on my index. Donut Spunk also has a light speckly finish that you can see when you hold your fingers close to your face - it's a dusting of red speckles, similar to how when you frost a cake, crumbs can get stuck in the frosting. Such a delicious shade!!
got this one in the heroes bundle. I don’t normally love a white polish but this is actually very pretty. I love the donut glaze look. So smooth. Kind of reminds me of pearls with that slight sheen as well.
This polish is beyond gorgeous! I had my doubts. I was worried this wouldn't look good on my skin tone (& I heard rumors how oyster pearl/glazed polish isn't for everyone). Lies! I am now a professed oyster pearl/glazed girly. This polish goes on smooth, dries beautifully, and comes alive with a QDTC. I love the color and the finish. It's literally perfection in a bottle.
When I was painting this one on, I wasn't sure I was going to like the taupe-y texture in it. However, it gives it a lovely chewy depth that is entirely missing from white/off-white polishes, and makes it flattering. Like the other Donut polishes, it has a lovely mix of white, blue, and maybe pink shimmers in it that are subtle and change with the lighting. Love it much more than I expected.
It was the "taupe" that made me pause. I cannot ever do beige, taupe or nude colors - they just look weird on my olive skin and give me dead hands. However, this one is some sort of magic chameleon color because on me...it almost looks pink. It matches one of my favorite shirts! This wound up being one of my favorite Cracked Polishes of all time.
Donut Spunk was the surprise standout in the Hero's bundle I scooped up during the anniversary sale! Photo in this review of skittle shows the true color. Other photos in this review show it with a special effects topper which transformed the shade into magic. Included photo of brush and replacement I used.
First, the good - I have many tones in my skin, and have been on a years-long search for a good basic neutral to add to my collection that didn't give "spiteful Grandma who gives out toothbrushes on Halloween".
Donut Spunk is "your favorite Grandma who gives out king-sized candy bars and has the best decorations in town for every season". It fabulously fit the bill as my dream neutral color! Monique is a genius when it comes to color-mixing and I dream of chatting about color with her someday over coffee.
Onto the brush. Right out of the gate, the brush bristles looked short in length compared to what I saw in swatch videos. Individual bristles seemed thick and stiff, and lacked the small metal triangle/staple looking thing that gathers the bristles together in most other brushes I've used. This made it incredibly difficult to work with the formula - the first coat went on okay, but the second formula, even when I floated, pulled the first coat with it. I had to redo the nail, overload the brush a bit more, and figured it out to get a smoother application. So, the learning curve for me was quick, but I foresee this becoming a source of frustration for others.
The formula - when I swatched Donut Spunk using the brush that comes with the bottle, the formula feels thick, chalky/grainy, and was prone to being overworked.
HOWEVER, when I switched out the brush to a more pliable fan/paddle, the formula performed incredibly - smoother application, NO overworking, and didn't feel thick anymore. What a glow-up!
I was thrilled and did a full Halloween themed mani. 2 coats for opacity, added a special effect topper, nail tattoos, and glow in the dark accents. Fabulous and no chips after tons of work with my hands all week.
I will absolutely order another bottle (and more backup brushes from elsewhere), and I'm still shocked this is my most used polish the past couple of weeks.
But I did want to be up front with my feedback and the brush trouble, especially as someone who has been painting their own nails for a couple decades. For the sale price I got it at with the bundle discount, I am quite happy with Donut Spunk.
Hoping Monique stocks replacement brushes in the future on the site so I can do a one stop shop :)!
Such a pretty donut glazed look in just 2 coats? Sold! The formula made application so easy! I’m so glad I tried out this best seller shade I was pleasantly surprised. 😊 It easily became one of my favorites in my collection 🤍 Couldn’t stop staring at my nails!
Donut Spunk is such an understated and underrated polish! It’s a beautiful nude polish with a slight bluish shimmer to it. I used two easy coats and it was perfect! I can’t wait to try the rest of my polishes from Cracked Polish
This colour is lovely. I have light olive skin and this pulls slightly pink on me - it’s like the most flattering white-like polish ever. Doesn’t give me corpse hands like some white/light/nude polishes.i LOVE the tiny flecks up close!
I do wish the formula worked better for me though. I’m not sure if I received a dud bottle since many reviews talk about how smooth and even the polish is, but my first coat was SO streaky, I wasn’t sure if I could make it work. It definitely can’t be used as a sheer wash of colour. I thinned the polish for the second coat and it helped some, but I could still see dark spots on my nails. I needed a third coat for it to be wearable for me and one finger could probably use a 4th coat since one of the coats on that finger dragged really badly. I don’t mind a 3-coater, but I watched quite a few swatch videos and my experience seems to be not the norm.
I have painted my nails for over 20 years so I am not a beginner anymore. I’m used to working with all sorts of formulas - so I don’t think this is a case of user error.
I still love this colour and would still recommend it. I might’ve just gotten a one off!
I never in my life thought that I would be able to pick just one nail polish color to be a favorite or only one nail that I would wear for the rest of my life. But that was before I met Donut Spunk. I’m serious, it’s got insane coverage for such a light champagne color and then it has this sheen that’s almost blue, but more neutral? And then there’s this shimmer that’s like darker than the color itself like this sandy color that kind of looks as if it’s the cake part of the donut peeking through. If you are extra and hate nude polish, you will love this. If you are scared of nail polish color and just want something natural you will wear this every day. It’s the perfect base for nail art. My favorite is to wear this shade as a base with light brushes of a shimmer on top. If angels were allowed to wear nail polish to work they would wear this shade.
